Players

To play USTA League Tennis, you need:

  1. a facility to play out of

  2. a current USTA membership

  3. a rating

A Facility to Play out of:

Aiken has some of the finest facilities. If you are not already a member of one, go to our Where to Play page to learn more about places to play tennis in the Aiken area. The facility that you join can also help you find a team.

To join the USTA:

Go to their Membership Page and follow the instructions to join. It’s easy! To see what your membership includes, visit Benefits.

Join a Team:

Now you can join a team. Take your USTA membership number and your team number (provided by your captain) go to register on Tennislink.

How to Register for a Team on USTA website: (PLAYERS)

Once you have created a USTA account (if a new player), go to tennislink.usta.com/leagues

1. Log in with your USTA account
2. Click on Register for a Team (this is located on the left side under “Start Playing”
3. Enter your USTA number and team number (team # is provided by your captain)
4. Review all information for accuracy before proceeding to step 5
5. Follow the instructions on the screen for payment
6. Write down your team registration number.
7. You will receive and email confirming your registration.

As a new player, you will be asked to determine a self rating (if you do not already have a previous USTA rating). The main Tennislink page will walk you through the self-rating process. At the top of the Tennislink page, select “NTRP Rating Help” for tips and instructions. Answering the questionnaire during registration will help you decide the appropriate level for you to play. Our levels range from 2.5 for true beginners to 4.5 for advanced league players. 5.0 and above players do not play a local league, but advance directly to Sectional or National playoffs. By far, our largest levels are 3.0 and 3.5, with the 4.0 level quickly growing.

Who to Contact

Players should email their captains with any questions or issues they have. The captain is responsible for contacting their Flight Coordinator. The Flight Coordinator should answer the captain within 48 hours; if no reply, the captain should contact the League Coordinator for follow-up.

If an urgent matter, the player should contact their captain via Text/Phone Call, the captain can TEXT/Call their flight coordinator. Flight Coordinators can respond via Text/Phone Call and set up a convenient time to talk.

All inquiries should be sent to the local AATL administration, not to the state.
